Ben received the 2023 surf photo of the year award with a striking image, captured from in the water, of Darcy Piper who was a previous guest on this podcast. Balancing his photography with a full-time plumbing career, Bennys passion for capturing the raw energy of the ocean has been a driving force since his teenage years. Photography is not Ben's career but instead a passion powered by a deep love and desire to be immersed in the ocean when it's at its most powerful. During this episode we reminisce on some funny times together, discuss the importance of preserving a good mental wellbeing and share a few tales from travels in search of waves.
